Comments

Smooth Brome is a perennial, 1.5-3 feet tall, that produces a dense sod. It flowers in the early spring (usually May to July) and may re-flower in the fall if there is sufficient moisture. Smooth Brome reproduces by seed, rhizomes, and tillers. It is usually cross-pollinated, although it can self-fertilize. Smooth Brome prefers climates that receive more than 15 inches of annual precipitation. It will not grow in soil that is more than moderately alkaline and may not tolerate sand or heavy clay, but otherwise it is adapted to virtually all other soil types.
